REDLANDS Coast creatives with bold ideas, skills to share or stories to tell are being encouraged to apply for grants of up to $10,000 through the latest Regional Arts Development Fund round.
The fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Redland City Council, supporting local arts, culture and creative projects.
Acting Mayor Julie Talty said Round 1 of the 2026-27 program could help artists and creative practitioners turn ideas into projects that benefit the wider community.
“RADF is about helping creative people turn ideas into meaningful projects that enrich our community and strengthen cultural connections across Redlands Coast,” Cr Talty said.
“Whether it’s developing new artistic work, building professional skills, creating opportunities for participation or celebrating local stories, these grants can help bring ideas to life.”
More than $90,000 was awarded across 13 local projects through the program last financial year.
Cr Talty said the projects highlighted the depth of creative talent across the Redlands, and the role arts initiatives could play in bringing people together and encouraging participation.
Council’s Arts, Culture and Heritage portfolio representative Cr Paul Bishop said applications were welcome from creatives working across disciplines including music, dance, theatre, visual arts, literature, craft, digital media and gaming.
“The program supports projects that encourage skills development and partnerships, as well as those that celebrate and elevate First Nations creators,” Cr Bishop said.
“It also recognises the importance of ensuring arts and culture remain accessible and relevant to people of all ages and backgrounds across our city.”
Cr Bishop encouraged prospective applicants to discuss their idea with Council’s RADF Liaison Officer before lodging an application.
Applications for RADF 2026-27 Round 1 close on Monday, September 28. A second round will open in March next year.
