HUNDREDS of passionate Redlands residents gathered at the Alexandra Hills Hotel to show their support for Henry Pike as he launched his campaign for re-election.

With the Prime Minister expected to call an election early this year, the enthusiastic turnout sent a strong message that Mr Pike and his supporters are prepared and eager for the campaign to begin.

In his address, the Federal Member for Bowman emphasised the need for “competent, back-to-basics national economic management” to help Australia recover and get back on track.

He also called for greater federal investment in the local Redlands community, arguing that the area has been neglected in recent years.

“There’s a simple question I’ll be asking the people of Redlands at this election,” Mr Pike told the crowd.

“Are you better off than you were three years ago?”

Through his extensive doorknocking across the electorate, he said the overwhelming response has been “no”, particularly in the Redlands.

“We won’t be able to maintain our quality of life unless we get serious about investing in local infrastructure,” Mr Pike said.

His re-election bid was bolstered by the presence of Shadow Minister for Defence, Andrew Hastie, who endorsed the Member for Bowman.

Mr Hastie praised Mr Pike as a “fighter” who had the heart and determination to stand up for both his community and country.

“Whether it’s protecting our flag or fighting for the Redlands community, Henry has the ticker, the heart, and the backbone to get the job done,” Mr Hastie said.

“If you want a government that’s focused on reducing spending, cutting inflation, lowering energy costs, and restoring the Australian standard of living, then you need strong leadership – leadership that starts with Henry Pike.”

Reflecting on the support from his constituents, Mr Pike expressed gratitude and determination.

“It’s humbling to have the trust of the Redlands community,” he said.
