Redlands’ quiet heroes could score free Pilates

PRONTO Pilates is calling for Redlands’ quiet achievers to be recognised with a full year of free reformer Pilates, and you get to choose who they are.

The national initiative, known as the Community Membership program, will award 500 “local heroes” across Australia and New Zealand a 12-month membership at no cost, giving people who rarely put themselves first a chance to reclaim some time for their own wellbeing.

Cleveland staff say they’re especially keen to hear stories from the region of the everyday residents who quietly give more than they take.

Karin, who works with Pronto Pilates, said the idea came from noticing who often misses out on fitness and wellness opportunities.

“With household budgets under pressure, things like fitness can be one of the first things people cut,” she said.

“But there are also people who miss out for another reason – their time already belongs to everyone else.”

Their expert-led classes running up to 23 times a day already makes Pilates accessible for locals, but the Community Membership goes a step further, removing cost entirely for those who need it most.

The Cleveland studio has built a steady following since opening, with locals praising the clarity of instruction and the ability to train whenever it suits.

Many say the format helps them stay consistent, something that could be life changing for a carer or shift worker who rarely gets predictable downtime.

Nominations are open now until November 22, and anyone can put forward a friend, colleague or family member.

More information, including nomination details, is available at Pronto Pilates’ Community Membership website page. ASHLEIGH WHATSON
