A Redland Bay training organisation founded by two former ambulance officers is working to improve emergency response skills across workplaces, community groups and high risk industries.
Em Care Pty Ltd, a Registered Training Organisation, was established by John and Evelyn Clinton after decades spent responding to emergencies as ambulance officers.
The pair later moved into workplace health and safety, combining their pre-hospital experience with WHS expertise to develop training based on real-world incidents rather than textbook scenarios.
The organisation delivers nationally recognised courses for individuals and businesses, with trainers who have worked in emergency or safety roles.
Its programs include first aid, CPR, low-voltage rescue, construction induction (White Card), aged and disability care qualifications and the Standard 11 coal mining induction required for access to Queensland mine sites.
Mr Clinton said the organisation’s focus was on preparing people for the critical first minutes of an emergency.
“Those first few minutes can change everything,” he said
Public courses, on-site group sessions and workplace-specific training are offered, including weekend options.
Em Care also provides ongoing safety support for businesses, the company supplies and services first aid kits for workplaces, vehicles and homes, ensuring they remain stocked and compliant.
Its workplace health and safety consultancy offers risk assessments, safe work procedures and policy development aimed at practical implementation.
For mining and other high-risk operations, Em Care develops Safety and Health Management Systems tailored to individual sites.
