COMMUNITY groups across Bonner are being urged to put forward their big ideas, with grants of up to $20,000 on offer under the latest Stronger Communities Program round.
Federal Member for Bonner Kara Cook is calling for expressions of interest from eligible local organisations for Round 10 of the Australian Government program, which has up to $150,000 available across the electorate.
A maximum of 20 projects will receive funding with individual grants ranging from $2500 to $20,000.
The money can be used for projects such as upgrades to community facilities, new equipment for sporting and community groups, and improvements to technology and communications.
Ms Cook said even a modest funding boost could make a major difference for the local organisations that keep the community connected.
“From sporting clubs and community groups to volunteer organisations, local people do an incredible job supporting our community every day,” she said.
“These grants are an opportunity to invest in the projects and facilities that help those organisations continue to grow and thrive.”
Ms Cook said she wanted to hear from groups with practical projects that would benefit their members and the wider community.
More than 19,000 community-based projects across Australia have received funding previously.
Projects must be located within the Bonner electorate.
Applicants must also have an Australian Business Number and meet the program’s eligibility requirements – expressions of interest close on Monday, November 2.
