The Victoria Point community has once again shown its generosity, with the Sharks Sporting Club announcing a remarkable $80,000 raised for the Leukaemia Foundation over the past year.

The highlight of their fundraising efforts was the Annual Leukaemia Foundation Charity Luncheon, held on Friday, October 17.

In just four hours, 265 guests helped raise an inspiring $37,000, part of a year-long campaign that also included the Laps for Leukaemia 48-hour Charity Walk and the Harry Woodrow Memorial Golf Day.

“This incredible milestone would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our community and the dedication of our Sharks team,” said Theresa Chapman, Promotions & Events Manager at Victoria Point Sharks.

“We are so proud of everyone who contributed to making the day such a success.”

Special thanks were extended to major sponsors CUB, Oatley Wines, Meat Addiction, Drummond Golf, and Moco Food Services, as well as guest supporters including Rebecca Young MP.

The luncheon also featured inspiring talks from Sam Thaiday and Wally Lewis, entertainment by MC Richard Champion and DJ KH, and a crowd favourite appearance by the Leukaemia Foundation Ambassador, Humphrey B. Bear.

From raising $26,000 last year to reaching $80,000 this year, the Victoria Point Sharks’ fundraising journey demonstrates the power of community coming together for a cause.

“We can’t wait to see what 2026 has in store,” Chapman said.
