The Queensland Police Service, Counter-Terrorism Investigation Group has charged three people in relation to criminal damage incidents at businesses in Tingalpa and Coopers Plains.

The Counter Terrorism Investigation Group commenced investigations into an alleged activist group after two businesses were broken into and vandalised a number of times between April and August, resulting in more than $40,000 in damages.

Police will allege the businesses were deliberately targeted and vandalised as part of a coordinated plan.

On September 30, officers executed search warrants at addresses in Canungra and Coombabah and located storage and recording devices, including GoPro footage, various tools and paint filled fire extinguishers.

A 30-year-old Canungra man, a 31-year- old Canungra woman and a 31-year-old Coombabah woman were charged with 11 offences including enter premises and commit indictable offence and wilful damage.

They were bailed to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today, November 12.

Detective Acting Superintendent Jason Hindmarsh said the work undertaken is a credit to the Counter-Terrorism Investigation Group.

“While the Queensland Police Service acknowledges the right to peaceful protest, we will take action against anyone who engages in unlawful behaviour.
