THORNLANDS’ 12-year-old diving sensation Mila Klyne has made a splash on the national stage, claiming three gold medals and the prestigious Female Australian Diver of the Year title at the 2025 Australian Elite Junior Diving Championships.

Mila dominated the competition, taking out the Platform, 3m Springboard, and 1m Springboard events – a clean sweep that cements her status as one of the country’s brightest young diving prospects.

Her performance followed an equally impressive campaign at the Queensland Elite Junior Diving Championships, where she also reigned supreme across all her events.

Adding to her list of accolades, Mila received the Female Australian Diver of the Year award at the annual Diving Australia Awards Dinner – marking the second time she has earned the national honour.

Her proud father, David Klyne, said Mila’s achievements reflected her hard work, focus and ability to deliver under pressure.

“She trains with incredible dedication and truly loves what she does,” Dr Klyne said.

“It’s wonderful to see that passion rewarded at such a high level.”

Mila’s performances have been widely praised by coaches and spectators alike, with highlights from her dives capturing national attention online through Diving Australia’s live coverage.

This is also the second time Mila has achieved a clean sweep at the Australian Elite Junior Diving Championships.

Mila came from a highly successful gymnastics background before transitioning into diving.

At just 12 years old, Mila’s remarkable success suggests a bright future ahead – and she’s already inspiring a new wave of young divers across Queensland.
