AFTER a challenging hiatus, the highly anticipated Redland Coast Blues Festival is set to return on Saturday, April 5, at the Redlands Showgrounds in Cleveland.
The festival, which had to be paused due to the devastating floods of 2022, promises to be bigger, better, and more exciting than ever.
The event, once a staple in the region’s cultural scene, will feature a dynamic line-up of blues performances.
With months of planning and collaboration from the Capalaba Rotary Club, Redland City Council, local community groups, and event industry partners, the festival is ready to make its grand return.
Festival’s co-ordinator Annette Richards expressed her excitement about the event’s comeback.
“It has been a long road to get to this point, but we’re thrilled to bring the Redland Coast Blues Festival back to life,” she said.
“This year, we’re focusing on delivering a fresh experience for both blues fans and our local community.”
In addition to the festival’s familiar vibe, this year’s event will include headline performances, with both local talent and paid acts slated to take the stage.
The festival’s commitment to giving back to the local community remains a cornerstone of the event.
Proceeds from the festival will support a variety of local projects, particularly those focused on alleviating hardship in the Redland City area.
Domestic violence support remains a priority, but Mrs Richards shared that the festival’s reach is broadening this year.
“We’ve always been about supporting our local community, and this year we’re expanding our focus to include a range of initiatives that will help those in need across Redland City,” she said.
“We’re excited to make a real difference and use the power of music to bring people together for a good cause.”
Local businesses, community groups, and Rotary Clubs have all rallied behind the festival, with sponsorships from organisations like Bendigo Bank, the Redlands Museum, and Redland City Council.
The support of these partners, according to Mrs Richards, is critical in making the event a success.
“We wouldn’t be able to do this without the generosity of our local sponsors and supporters,” she said.
“It’s heartwarming to see everyone come together for such a worthwhile cause, and we can’t wait to welcome the community back for a day of incredible music and celebration.”
