FOR Cleveland resident Pam Tranter, volunteering has been a cornerstone of her life for over 20 years.

A proud Redlands local of 37 years, Pam has dedicated her time to the Redlands Branch of Cancer Council Queensland, where her efforts have left a lasting impact on both the community and those affected by cancer.

Pam’s journey into volunteering began when her children started school, inspired by her mother’s example.

“When my children were very young and starting school, I was on the school P&C,” she said.

“I simply followed my mother’s good example of being involved.”

Her favourite aspect of volunteering? The people she meets and the sense of achievement it brings.

“Volunteering in my senior years is still as rewarding as my early years,” she said.

Pam described the Redlands community as vibrant and supportive and filled with opportunities to connect.

“The Redlands is a community with many things to do and be involved with,” she said.

Pam said some volunteers created beautiful crafts sold at stalls in Redlands shopping centres, where extra help was always needed.

Pam invites potential volunteers to reach out via email at vicep1@redland cancerbranch.com or by calling 0408 550 435.
