THE Redlands Coast community is invited to come together on Friday, October 9 for the inaugural Redlands Seniors Expo, celebrating Queensland Seniors Month and showcasing the services, activities and opportunities available to seniors across the Redland’s region and beyond.
Held at the Redland Performing Arts Centre (RPAC), Cleveland, from 9am to 2pm, this free community event will feature more than 40 exhibitors providing information, demonstrations and education on services relevant to seniors.
The Expo will feature a program of guest speakers covering a range of topics to support seniors in making informed decisions about their health, wellbeing, legal affairs, future planning, finances and services to support independent living.
The live entertainment program will feature Sing Sing Sing, Queensland’s first choir for people living with dementia and their carers, family and friends, alongside performances by the Birkdale Community Men’s Shed Band and Off The Record, delivering familiar tunes and live music.
Visitors will also enjoy light refreshments and have the opportunity to participate in lucky draws including an Aria Moreton Bay Cruise for four people – plus raffles and giveaways throughout the day.
The Redlands Seniors Expo is organised by the Redlands Seniors Network, including RDCOTA, Blue Care, Dovida, U3A Redlands, Redland City Council, End of Life Transitions, Retirement Care Solutions, STAR Community Services and Claymore Thistle.
Redland City Council is proud to provide funding for the Redlands Seniors Expo through its Community Grants Program, supporting initiatives that contribute towards a connected and engaged Redlands Coast community. This inaugural Expo provides an opportunity for seniors to discover local services, hear from experienced speakers, meet community organisations, enjoy live entertainment and connect with others in a welcoming environment.
