REDLANDS students have turned in a dominant showing at the 2026 FISAF Australia National Championships, claiming national titles and a long list of podium finishes across primary and secondary sports aerobics events.
The six-day championships were held at the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre, where teams from local public, Catholic and independent schools competed against the country’s best.
Cleveland State School celebrated one of the region’s biggest results, with its Golden Girls crowned national champions in the Primary Pre-Choreographed Teams Year 6 final.
Redlands College also had a standout championship.
Its Confetti Crew won the Primary Pre-Choreographed Teams Year 3 final, while a Redlands College team finished first in the Year 5 pre-choreographed event.
The college’s Disco Divas placed third in the Secondary Pre-Choreographed Teams final, and Mini Movers finished third in the Primary Year 2 division.
Faith Lutheran College at Victoria Point took silver in the Secondary Pre-Choreographed Teams Year 7 final, with Power Up finishing second.
Ormiston College claimed the Secondary Large Teams Years 10-12 national title with East 8.
Its Hoodlum team was second in Secondary Fitness Teams, while Haylee Macmillan and Stephanie Martin placed fourth in the Years 10-12 pairs final.
Ormiston State School also featured among the leading primary teams.
Diamonds took second in the Year 3 final, Opals finished third in Year 1, Gems were fourth in Year 2, and Emeralds reached the Year 4 national final.
Mount Cotton State School added a medal in the Year 4 competition, with Cupcakes taking third.
The Quick Six were third in Year 1, while the Calton Jelly Beans finished second in their Year 1 pre-choreographed final.
Y’all Stars from St Mary Mackillop Primary took first place in the Primary Fitness Category.
BayView State School, Calvary Christian College and Carmel College were also strongly represented among the finalists.
State Member for Oodgeroo Amanda Stoker said the results showed the strength of sports aerobics programs across Redlands.
“Schools and students from the Redlands and Bayside region performed so strongly that they achieved more medals than the entirety of even more populous states like NSW and Victoria,” she said.
“That’s an incredible result to celebrate!”
