ORMISTON College has celebrated one of its strongest school-sport seasons after claiming The Associated Schools’ Trimester 3 Champion School title and a historic clean sweep of Firsts premierships.
The Redbacks were crowned overall TAS Trimester 3 champions for the first time since 2019 following a seven-round campaign across boys’ basketball, boys’ football, girls’ volleyball and girls touch football.
They also claimed the TAS Girls Volleyball Champion School title and shared the Boys Basketball Champion School honours.
But it was the results at Firsts level that made the season one to remember for the Ormiston College community.
For the first time, the College won the top-level premiership in all four Trimester 3 sports. The landmark results included Ormiston’s first-ever TAS Firsts Boys Basketball premiership giving the Redbacks a breakthrough title in one of the competition’s major sports.
The Firsts Girls Volleyball team continued its dominant run, securing a third consecutive TAS premiership, while the boys’ football and girls touch football sides added premierships of their own.
Ormiston College said the achievement reflected the efforts of its student/athletes, coaches, staff, families and supporters.
