A DAY of memories, celebration and reflection marked the 50th anniversary of Victoria Point Adventist Retirement Village on October 22.

Residents, staff and guests gathered for a commemorative service, historic displays, resident reflections and lunch, celebrating the village’s journey from a small aged-care community to a home for 155 residents.

Some current residents have related to the village since its earliest days, first working there as nurses when it opened.

CEO Eric Anderson said the village began with 14 independent living units and 30 aged care beds and has since grown to provide 179 beds.
