REDLANDS United were denied victory with virtually the last kick of the game as Robina City snatched a dramatic 1-1 draw on the Gold Coast.

Bailey Paxton gave the visitors a deserved first-half lead with Redlands controlling proceedings and creating enough opportunities to build a more commanding advantage before the break.

The contest became more difficult in the second half as Redlands played into the wind and lost three players to head knocks.

Despite those setbacks, United defended strongly, competed well across the park and continued to threaten at the other end.

Redlands came agonisingly close to doubling its advantage when an effort struck the post, but the failure to find a second goal ultimately proved costly.

With United seemingly poised to claim all three points, Robina equalised in the 95th minute with what was effectively the final kick of the match.

The heartbreaking finish forced Redlands to settle for a second consecutive 1-1 draw despite another encouraging performance.
