REDLANDS local Cassie Pighin is preparing to step onto one of Australia’s biggest pageant stages, proudly representing Victoria Point at the 2026 Australia Galaxy Pageants National Final in Sydney this May.
But while the national spotlight is calling, Cassie’s heart – and her impact – remain firmly rooted in the Redlands community.
Cassie, who holds the title Mrs Victoria Point Galaxy, has become known locally not just for her pageant success, but for her hands-on community involvement, advocacy for neurodivergent families and commitment to youth mental health.
Balancing life as a mother of two, a government employee and the owner of a Redlands bridal boutique, she says her journey is driven by purpose rather than pageantry alone.
“Representing Victoria Point means everything to me,” Cassie said.
“This community has shaped who I am, and I want to give back in every way I can.”
At the centre of her campaign is The Parenting Pivot, a platform she created to support parents of neurodivergent children.
Drawing from her own family’s experiences, she encourages parents to trust their instincts and adapt their approach to suit their child’s individual needs.
“There’s still so much stigma around ASD and ADHD,” she said.
“I want parents to feel supported, not judged, while they navigate something that can be incredibly overwhelming.”
Cassie’s community involvement stretches across the region.
She has volunteered at the Redlands Community Disability Expo, supported the Performance Pulse Expo hosted by Growl Racing, and assisted at the Emergency Services Expo on Bribie Island.
She also contributes to major charity events, including the Childhood Cancer Support 50-Year Hearts of Gold Gala and the Be Uplifted Inc. Signature High Tea, which raised vital funds for breast cancer patients.
“Showing up matters. Whether it’s a big fundraiser or a local expo, being present and helping where you can makes a real difference.”
Her fundraising efforts this year focus on batyr, a youth mental health organisation delivering peer-led programs to young Australians.
With youth mental ill-health rising, Cassie hopes her $2000 fundraising goal will help more young people access early support.
As she prepares for the national final, Cassie continues to champion local causes while running her Redlands bridal boutique, where she recently launched The Conscious Collection, a sustainability-focused initiative extending the life of pre-loved gowns.
“If sharing my story helps even one family feel less alone, then I’m doing exactly what I’m meant to be doing.”
Cassie will travel to Sydney for the national final on May 2.
