The State Emergency Service received more than 300 requests for assistance across Redland City after powerful thunderstorms ripped through South East Queensland on Monday evening.

Between midday on November 24 and 2.30am on November 25, the SES logged 2,200 jobs statewide, with Redland City accounting for 314 of them.

About 75 per cent of all requests were for structural damage, including tarping roofs and attending to smashed windows and skylights.

Another 12 per cent involved flooding, while 10 per cent were categorised as multiple-issue jobs.

Brisbane recorded the highest number of call-outs with 653, followed by Logan (518), Moreton Bay (462), Redland City (314) and the Sunshine Coast (116).

An SES spokesperson said much of the worst damage had been reported on Bribie Island, where winds were strong enough to flip a vehicle.

While no single job stood out as a major incident, many homes across the region sustained significant damage from large hail or fallen trees.

Redlands residents also shared reports of shredded roofs, downed branches and torrential rain as the rapidly intensifying storm cell swept across the bayside.

Authorities are urging locals to report damage, avoid storm-affected areas, and remain alert with more unsettled weather forecast this week.
