REDLANDS United hosted high-flying Brisbane Strikers to qualify for the next round of the Kappa Qld Cup.
With 18 minutes gone, United’s Isaac Garcia pounced on a long back pass to the Strikers keeper, but the keeper managed to turn his shot around the post for a corner.
From Jason Park’s corner, Max Ellenger put the Red Devils 1-0 up.
With 39 minutes gone, Kealan Crawford grabbed the Red Devils’ second.
Strikers rallied but the Red Devils’ defence, marshalled by keeper Pat Millard, held firm.
In the second half, Michael Lee found his way through the Strikers defence but his shot was deflected by the keeper’s legs.
Redlands increased their lead after 64 minutes when Park released Crawford down the left.
He beat his defender and sent a perfectly placed ball across goal for Deegan Brook to slot home for Redlands’ third goal.
Redlands could have scored more goals if not for the effort of the Strikers keeper.
