Community organisations across the Redlands are being urged to apply for funding to support local road safety initiatives, with applications for Round 17 of the Community Road Safety Education Grants closing soon.

Under the program, eligible not-for-profit organisations — including community groups, schools, P&Cs, P&Fs and local councils — can apply for grants of up to $40,000 to deliver road safety education projects tailored to local needs.

Since its launch in 2013, the grants program has delivered more than $54 million to organisations across Queensland, supporting initiatives aimed at improving road safety awareness, encouraging safer behaviour and reducing road trauma.

State Member for Capalaba Russell Field MP, who is also Co-Chair of the Parliamentary Friends of Road Safety, said the funding offered a valuable opportunity for local organisations to make a tangible difference.

“Keeping our community safe on local roads is a shared responsibility, and these grants empower local organisations to deliver the practical education and awareness initiatives that can save lives across our roads,” Mr Field said.

“Whether it is educating young people about safe road use, supporting vulnerable road users, or promoting safer driving behaviours, these grants can help turn great ideas into real outcomes for our community.

“Our Redlands region has a strong network of schools, sporting clubs and community groups that care deeply about safety. I encourage them to take advantage of this funding opportunity and put forward their proposals.”

Applications for Round 17 close at 5pm on Tuesday, 31 March 2026. While applications are accepted year-round, organisations wishing to be considered in the upcoming funding round are encouraged to submit their applications before the closing date.
