Australians who reckon they can outthink 99 per cent of the population are being invited to put themselves to the test, with casting now open for a possible fifth season of The 1% Club Australia.

The Channel 7 quiz show, hosted by comedian Jim Jefferies, is searching for a new group of contestants to take on its series of logic and reasoning questions for the chance to win up to $100,000.

Unlike traditional quiz programs, The 1% Club does not focus on general knowledge. Instead, contestants face questions designed to test common sense, logic and problem-solving ability, with the difficulty increasing as the field is narrowed down.

The show has reportedly already handed out more than $1 million in prize money across its Australian run.

In its latest casting call, producers are encouraging people from across the country to apply and attempt to become the newest member of the “very exclusive 1% Club”.

“With well over $1 million already given away in prize money, you could be our next winner of up to $100,000,” the casting call says.

“Apply now and get on track to have a crack at becoming the latest member of the very exclusive 1% Club and have a fun few hours with Jim Jefferies.”

Produced by BBC Studios Australia, the program has become a regular part of Seven’s entertainment line-up and has also introduced themed episodes including Ladies Night, Singles Night and Sports Night.

The format originated in the UK and has since been adapted internationally, with the Australian edition continuing to attract contestants keen to test how their thinking compares with the rest of the country.

While Seven is yet to formally announce a fifth season, the opening of casting signals preparations are underway.

Applications are now open through the show’s official casting portal.
