A PETITION lodged by former Bowman federal independent candidate Shaun Holloway calling for answers on the Judy Holt Park environmental rehabilitation project has attracted just a single signature — his own.
The petition, submitted to Redland City Council, is seeking a detailed community update on the multi-million dollar works at Judy Holt Park, including scope changes, rising costs and project timelines.
However, as of publication, the petition has recorded only one response, falling well short of the 10 signatures required for it to be considered properly made.
Mr Holloway, listed as the principal petitioner, is calling on council to outline any changes in scope since the project began — including whether those changes contributed to the closure of Lloyd Vista on February 16, 2026.
He is also seeking clarity on whether costs have increased beyond the $34,336,538.14 contract awarded to McMahon Services, which was disclosed in January 2025.
The petition further asks council to provide an updated timeline for completion of the works and when the community can expect full access to the sports fields at Judy Holt Park.
It also calls for council to detail whether similar environmental rehabilitation projects are planned for other Redlands parks and sporting fields built on former landfill sites.
Under council procedures, a petition must reach at least 10 signatures to be formally accepted and considered.
Should that threshold be met, council is required to respond to the principal petitioner within 10 business days of the meeting at which the petition is presented.
At this stage, the petition remains well short of that mark.
