Redland City Council is urging local businesses to seize emerging opportunities linked to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, hosting a free industry forum next month aimed at preparing the region for long-term growth.
The event, to be held during Queensland Small Business Month in May, will focus on helping operators understand how to position themselves for procurement pathways, partnerships and future investment tied to Brisbane 2032.
Mayor Jos Mitchell said the initiative was about ensuring local businesses were not left behind as momentum builds toward the Games.
“The Brisbane 2032 Games will create real opportunities for local suppliers, operators and service providers — and we want Redlands Coast businesses to be in the best possible position to build partnerships, win work, and grow,” the Mayor said.
Delivered in partnership with the Redlands Coast Chamber of Commerce, the forum will bring together industry leaders and legacy specialists to share insights into navigating Games-related opportunities.
Guest speakers include Dyan Currie, Chamber president Suzie Tafolo, and Redlands Coast 2032 Legacy Working Group member Andy Bradley.
The Mayor said the forum would also help shape the region’s long-term planning.
“This is about more than one moment in 2032 — it’s about creating a lasting legacy for jobs, skills and investment right here on Redlands Coast,” the Mayor said.
“Participants will also have the chance to share ideas and priorities to help inform Council’s Redlands Coast 2032 Legacy Roadmap.
“If you run a business on Redlands Coast, this is your chance to hear directly from people shaping Brisbane 2032, ask questions and start planning next steps.”
Business owners can find out more and register via Council’s Eventbrite page before Wednesday, April 29.
