THREE major Redlands developments have been recognised among Queensland’s best, highlighting the city’s growing reputation for sustainable and innovative design.

Paradise Garden Shopping Village, Stockland’s Shoreline Mangrove Wetlands, and Fiteni’s Botanix project all received state accolades in recent weeks, with judges praising their contribution to community life, environmental outcomes, and forward-thinking planning.

Paradise Garden Shopping Village at Thornlands was named Best Retail Shopping Centre Development in Queensland at the Property Council of Australia’s Retail Property Awards on October 31.

Since opening last year, Paradise Garden has become a popular community hub, with its operators crediting local support and Council collaboration for the project’s success.

On November 7, Stockland claimed the Sustainability Award at the 2025 UDIA Queensland Awards for Excellence for its Mangrove Wetlands at Shoreline.

The project was recognised for transforming degraded land into a thriving intertidal wetland that delivers measurable environmental, ecological, and climate benefits.

Meanwhile, Redlands developer Fiteni and its planning partners were honoured in the Performance & Innovation in Development category at the Planning Institute of Australia (Queensland) Awards for their Botanix master plan at Wellington Point.

The project reimagines a former nursery site as a vibrant neighbourhood offering diverse housing and 11,000m² of publicly accessible open space.

It was commended for its adaptive reuse, community engagement, and innovative approach to balancing increased density with environmental sensitivity.

Fiteni’s project team — including Mewing Planning Consultants, Arkhefield, ASPECT Studios, Fourfold Studio and Urban Enquiry — gave special thanks to Redland City Council’s planning team for their collaboration throughout the application process.

Division 7 Councillor Rowanne McKenzie said the series of awards reflected strong partnerships between developers, planners and Council.

“It’s fantastic to see Redlands developments being recognised at the highest level for their innovation, design, and sustainability,” Cr McKenzie said.

“These projects show how thoughtful planning and collaboration can create spaces that benefit both our community and the environment.”
