Police have charged a man following investigations into complaints from the community of fireworks being set off at a jetty in Lota.

It is alleged shortly after midnight on October 19 a group set off a container of fireworks before fleeing along Esplanade in the direction of Cobar Street.

Following extensive investigations, on November 9 police conducted a search warrant on a Bellevue Parade address.

It will be alleged a box of fireworks were located in addition to cannabis plants and product.

A 35-year-old Kelvin Grove man was subsequently charged with one count each of authority required to possess explosives, possessing dangerous drugs, and producing dangerous drugs.

He is expected to appear before Wynnum Magistrates Court on November 24.

Investigations remain ongoing and anyone with information or vision, including CCTV or dash cam that may assist investigations is asked to contact police.
