The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating after a man died following an e-scooter crash on Russell Island overnight, 12 November.

Around 6.30am police were called to Highland Ridge Road following reports an unresponsive man had been located with an e-scooter.

Upon arrival, the 62-year-old Russell Island man was declared deceased.

The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the circumstances of the incident and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who has relevant footage to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.

The Queensland Police Service is committed to reducing the number of lives lost on our roads.

Data shows that serious crashes can be significantly reduced when drivers recognise and avoid the ‘Fatal Five’ behaviours: speeding, drink and drug driving, not wearing seatbelts, fatigue and distraction.
