IT was a night of glamour, celebration, and community spirit as the Redlands Coast Chamber of Commerce hosted the 2025 Business Excellence Awards at the Alexandra Hills Hotel on Saturday, October 18.

From the moment guests arrived on the red carpet, complete with live performances, and an elegant drinks and canapes reception, the excitement was palpable. Local entrepreneurs, dignitaries and supporters filled the venue to honour the outstanding achievements of the Redlands Coast business community.

Hosted by the ever-charismatic Supa Tony, the evening recognised excellence across 21 award categories, celebrating local innovation, resilience, and passion.

The event opened with a heartfelt Welcome to Country by Cameron Costello, followed by a warm welcome and commendation from Mayor Jos Mitchell.

Chamber President Suzie Tafolo officially launched the awards, acknowledging the event’s sponsors, including Redland City Council, Redland Bayside News, Grand View Hotel, Victoria Point Shopping Centre, Australian Events and many more who made the evening possible.

More than 150 businesses entered the 2025 program, with 56 finalists vying for honours. Over 2500 community votes were also cast for the People’s Choice Awards, reflecting the deep pride locals have in their businesses.

The night’s top honour, Business of the Year, sponsored by Redland Bayside News, went to Skye Dental, rewarding an outstanding business that embodied excellence across all judging criteria.

“We’re absolutely honoured to be recognised as Business of the Year and for Best Health and Social Services,” Skye Dental’s Zaid Amour said.

“This award is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our entire team and the trust our patients place in us every day.”

The Redlands Community Champion Award, presented by the Chamber itself, went to the Rotary Club of Capalaba, recognising its exceptional community contribution and local impact.

In a special moment, the Chamber’s Committee, Awards subcommittee and President Suzie Tafolo were applauded for their tireless work in bringing the event to life.

The judging panel, led by Dr Lyn Bishop, Steve McDonald, Jill Gray, Ian Neil and Danika Bakalich, was also recognised for its dedication in reviewing hundreds of applications on volunteered time.
