WHAT is it that inspires you to fly off to fascinating far-off lands or embark on a cruise of discovery to delightful spots closer to home?

Maybe it’s something you have seen on TV, films, or even on stage.

Chances are it could be a travel book you’ve encountered at the library or your local bookstore.

One such book we recommend is The Bucket List by Cath Stathers, providing 1000 adventures big and small.

You can also get lots of ideas by reading a travel magazine, like Asian Journeys, or the Travel + Luxury paper.

Why not pick up a brochure or two from your travel agent, where chances are you will see something to grab your attention or somewhere to add to your personal bucket list.

Better still is when you take the opportunity to attend a consumer travel event where you can directly engage with fellow travellers.

Helloworld Travel Capalaba and Carindale organises events like this regularly, with the next one coming up on Wednesday, October 22 at 6pm at the Pacific Golf Club at 420 Pine Mountain Rd, Carindale.

This will feature a world-wide bucket-list of destinations, with a special focus on Egypt and tours with APT and Travel Marvel.

Learn a lot about other exciting destinations too.

Last month, Helloworld Travel organised a similar event at Capalaba Central, when APT’s Madison Baier – with 12 years’ experience in the industry – enthralled an enthusiastic gathering of frequent travellers with her well-illustrated travel stories covering Asia and Europe.

Besides getting inspired to make your next journey, these consumer travel events provide exclusive event offers and deals.

And speak directly with travel experts, including senior travel agents, who have first-hand experience of the products and destinations featured.

Next month, Madison Baier has agreed to share more of her insights into exotic places as guest speaker at the Travellers’ Tales event at Wynnum 60 and Better clubrooms at the Wynnum Central Community Centre on Wednesday, November 5 at 10.30am.

Another way to share travel stories, ideas and advice with seasoned travellers and the novice, is through this travel page Hello to the World of Travel.

We welcome your feedback directly to kenhickson @outlook.com.

Meantime, RSVP to the Free Travel Event on October 22 – Email: carindale@helloworld.com.au or capalaba@helloworld.com.au, or call 3369 5899 for Carindale or 3245 4377 for Capalaba.
