Redlands Coast Chamber of Commerce

CHAMBER of Commerce and Industry Queensland has welcomed the 2025 State Budget, describing it as a positive step towards bolstering business confidence – particularly through investment in infrastructure and workforce development ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Chamber said the Budget responded to several key business priorities, including continued payroll tax rebates for apprentices and trainees, a new digital fund aimed at improving government efficiency, streamlined government procurement processes, and support to grow export capabilities.

Chamber CEO Heidi Cooper said the Budget addressed many of the organisation’s more than 100 pre-Budget recommendations but warned that Queensland businesses still face serious challenges.

The Chamber also acknowledged the Budget’s focus on broader economic concerns such as housing affordability and community safety – with new funding for housing relief and the Thriving Community Partnerships Fund, designed to boost safety in business precincts.

Ms Cooper said that while the Budget moved in the right direction, confidence remained fragile across the state’s business community.
