A joint retail and home property in the heart of Point Lookout has sold at auction for a noteworthy $3.58 million.

Situated on Mooloomba Rd, the property was sold as a retail and home package offering a range of living, business and investment opportunities.

The property covers 594 square meters and includes a retail space with a residential apartment above and a three-bedroom house at the back of the property.

It has been held and developed over many decades, having originated as an individual cottage which was then moved back and raised up.

A commercial space and unit above have been built since, with the back of the property becoming the permanent residency.

Situated in one of Queensland’s most renowned waterside destinations, the property has direct access to North Gorge Walk, Frenchman’s Beach, Main Beach and parks.

Besides the ocean views, the commercial space is part of the furniture of Point Lookout with excellent street frontage for hotspot tourism.

RayWhite agent Chris Ransley said the property was a tremendous sale for he and fellow agent Dwight Ferguson and their most expensive sale to date for 2023.

“This was a very special property to market and Dwight and I are very proud to represent the sellers on it,” he said.

Mr Ransley said the site was very unique and needed to be catered to individuals who wanted what it had to offer.

“The jaw-dropping views, no need for any vehicles and the whole of Point Lookout on your doorstep is what makes the property really stand out,” he said.

“There isn’t two of them, that’s for sure.”

Mr Ransley said properties on North Stradbroke Island were currently in demand, with a great amount of interest and requests for a “slice of paradise”.
