Original local songwriter and R U OK? ambassador Aislinn Sharp has released a new single with the Choir of Hard Knocks in Melbourne to commemorate R U OK? Day on September 14.

Aislinn, of Victoria Point, said she wrote pop songs to make people feel, move and connect.

The song is entitled Matter and is a deeply personal story about struggling and feeling alone.

“But as someone notices the struggle and reaches out to ask are you okay, Matter becomes an uplifting track about how meaningful connection can help make a positive difference in changing a life,” Aislinn said.

The music was put together by Melbourne producer Patrick Gabriel (aka PattyBoomba, who is the DJ touring with ILLY, the rapper).

“I am releasing the song with the Choir of Hard Knocks to further spread mental health awareness in our communities around Australia,” Aislinn said.

To learn and sing the words, Aislinn has collaborated with designer Anna Chen to create an animated lyric video for Matter which is available on YouTube.
