THE Redlands Rays Baseball Club has received a major boost, with new lighting now installed on two diamonds at the club’s Capalaba home base.
Division 9 Councillor Jason Colley announced the completion of the project, describing it as a significant upgrade for the growing baseball club.
“Let there be light,” Cr Colley said in a social media post celebrating the milestone.
The project was delivered by Redland City Council with funding support from the State and Federal Governments through the South East Queensland Liveability Fund.
Cr Colley thanked fellow councillors for supporting the project, along with Council officers who helped bring the upgrade to fruition.
The new lighting is expected to increase playing opportunities for the club, allowing more evening training sessions, games and community use.
The upgrade comes as participation in baseball continues to grow across the Redlands, with improved infrastructure helping local clubs cater for increasing demand.
