ORMISTON College Early Learning Centre (ELC) has cemented its place as a leader in early childhood education in the Redlands, receiving an overall “Exceeding” rating in its latest National Quality Standard (NQS) assessment.
The result places the centre among the strongest-rated services in the region, with only 33 per cent of Ormiston childcare centres achievingsuch a high rating.
The assessment, conducted by authorised officers from the state regulatory authority, evaluates services across seven key areas including educational practice, children’s safety, physical environment, staffing, relationships, community partnerships, and leadership.
Ormiston College ELC achieved Exceeding in all seven, surpassing the national benchmark that requires only four areas to be rated above standard.
Director Andrea Potter said the achievement reflected the centre’s deep commitment to children and families in the local community.
“Our educators’ intentional practice, collaborative spirit, and deep understanding of children’s learning and wellbeing create a warm, safe, and inspiring place for children to learn and grow,” she said.
The centre’s Exceeding rating in Children’s Health and Safety was supported by strengthened wellbeing practices and child inclusive risk assessments, contributing to calmer environments and fewer incidents.
Its Exceeding result in Physical Environment
highlighted the centre’s nature connected learning spaces and the use of the Curiosity Approach to encourage deep engagement and discovery.
Ms Potter said the recognition was a testament to the centre’s long-standing culture of improvement.
“Achieving Exceeding in all seven quality areas is an incredible reflection of the centre and its community,” she said.
With Ormiston home to six childcare centres – only two of which hold an Exceeding rating – the result reinforces the ELC’s position as a standout choice for local families seeking high-quality early learning.
