REDLANDS Cycling and Multisport Club athletes have delivered a clean sweep of podium finishes at the Raby Bay Triathlon, capping off a standout weekend that also saw members take on the Ipswich Scenic 100.
RCMC competitors dominated across multiple categories at Raby Bay, with every club athlete finishing in the top three of their respective events.
In the Enticer Distance teams’ race, Olivia, Kate and Hannah Gayner powered to first place, while Team RCMC Crush Kill Destroy — Neil Makepeace, Neil Makepeace and Kelly Phuah — claimed top honours in the Club Distance teams event.
The club’s strength extended into the individual Club Distance race, where Bronnie Williams and Darren Farlow each secured first place in their divisions.
Michael Pelka and Russell Hunter added to the medal tally with second-place finishes.
Rory Carter, Tania Farlow and Chrissy Sands rounded out the results with third-place finishes, with Sands marking a milestone performance in her first Club Distance triathlon.
Away from the triathlon scene, a strong contingent of RCMC riders also lined up for the Ipswich Scenic 100, a popular community ride supporting the Ipswich Hospital Foundation.
Anne Oosthuizen, Ann O’Brien, Ron O’Brien, Jerry Robinson, Shaun Lowry, Adam Colless, Barry Halliday and Greg Gunn represented the club across the course, continuing a busy and successful weekend for Redlands athletes.
