Eco-friendly activities, artisan stalls and live entertainment will take centre stage when the Redlands IndigiScapes Centre hosts its popular Eco Markets this month.
The family-friendly event, set for Saturday 11 April, will bring together local businesses, environmental groups and residents for a morning focused on sustainability, education and community connection.
Redland City Mayor Jos Mitchell said the markets offered something for all ages while promoting environmentally conscious living.
“The eco markets are always a popular event for the wide range of sustainable products, from local produce to hand-made ceramics, jewellery and art,” the Mayor said.
“There are also activities for children to enjoy, such as outdoor time, messy play and face painting.
“Exhibitors will highlight the significant conservation work of local environmental and community groups.
“Council’s Pest and Disaster Management teams and ParkCare and TrailCare teams will be on site and there will be information on Council programs including environmental partnerships, Bushcare and wildlife conservation and rescue.
“Council’s Principal Adviser – Community Education Stacey Thomson, aka Ranger Stacey, will be joined on the outdoor stage by speakers about environmental career opportunities.
“This includes her former Queensland Parks and Wildlife colleague Ranger Tim Moore and Patrick Coolwell from the Indigenous Rangers Program, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary Wildlife Officer Ruth Dyer and ultra runner, conservationist and mental health advocate Kieron Douglass.
“A careers corner will provide further opportunities to learn about environmental careers with Redland City Council, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and Griffith University.”
The event will also feature live music in the gardens, a pop-up op shop offering vintage and second-hand items, and a live broadcast by Bay FM.
“There will be plenty of food options from the IndigiCafe as well as food and beverage vans,” the Mayor said.
“You can also enjoy a stroll through the IndigiScapes nature tracks, take in the natural beauty of the botanic gardens, visit the Environment Centre and Gift Shop, or pick up native plants for your gardens from the Native Plant Nursery.
“This event is about celebrating all things local – from local businesses and locally-made creations to the beautiful natural environment on Redlands Coast.”
The Eco Markets will be held from 8am to 12pm on Saturday 11 April 2026 at the Redlands IndigiScapes Centre, 17 Runnymede Road, Capalaba.
