REDLANDS sporting clubs looking to upgrade facilities ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games can now apply for a share of a $30 million funding boost, with the State Government opening Round 2 of its Games On! capital grant program.
The funding is part of Queensland’s long-term Olympic and Paralympic legacy strategy, aimed at supporting upgraded grassroots sporting infrastructure in the lead-up to 2032 and delivering benefits well beyond the Games.
Member for Redlands Rebecca Young said the program was focused on backing the clubs, volunteers and communities that underpin grassroots sport across the region.
“From junior footy and netball to cricket, rugby and tennis, Redlands has a proud sporting culture — and this funding is about making sure our local clubs have the facilities they need to grow,” Mrs Young said.
“Better fields, safer lighting, upgraded amenities and modern facilities mean more people participating, stronger clubs, and better outcomes for our community.”
Round 1 of the Games On! program supported 119 projects across Queensland.
With Round 2 now open, sporting organisations can submit a Registration of Interest under two funding streams.
The Games On! – Field of Play stream offers $20 million for smaller, community-level infrastructure projects designed to boost participation and improve local amenities.
The Games On! – Partnership Fund provides $10 million for larger-scale infrastructure projects or the redevelopment of sporting precincts.
Mrs Young said the new round of funding demonstrated the State Government’s commitment to delivering lasting sporting infrastructure across the state.
“I strongly encourage eligible Redlands sporting clubs to take a close look at this opportunity and submit a Registration of Interest,” she said.
Registrations of Interest are now open.
