An 83-year-old cyclist has died following a traffic crash at Tingalpa on Saturday morning, with police appealing for witnesses.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Wynnum Road and Murarrie Road about 6.10am on January 10 after reports of a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist.

The cyclist, an 83-year-old man from Balmoral, was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he died a short time later.

The driver of a Mitsubishi Triton, a 50-year-old Murarrie man, was not physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit from Queensland Police Service is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has dashcam or CCTV footage from the area around the time of the crash, to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Policelink via the online suspicious activity form or by calling 131 444. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police have asked that reference number QP2600060012 be quoted.
