A LEADING veteran-focused mental health provider is set to expand its footprint in the Redlands, partnering with Hub68 to deliver advanced psychiatric and neurorehabilitation services for current and former serving personnel.
March Ahead, founded and led by Associate Professor Charana Perera, provides independent psychiatric assessments and DVA reports for Australian veterans.
The organisation specialises in comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and evidence-informed opinions that meet legislative, clinical and medico-legal standards.
“March Ahead is advancing into a dedicated brain injury and neurorehabilitation pathway in collaboration with a diverse group of clinical and technology experts,” Dr Perera said.
“This framework integrates contemporary neurorehabilitation methods with advanced digital and assistive technologies, including Brain Computer Interface platforms, robotics-assisted therapy, gamified training systems, artificial intelligence applications, social robotics and affective AI, as well as immersive Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality environments.
“By drawing on multi-disciplinary expertise and evidence-informed innovations, the pathway aims to support structured assessment and rehabilitation processes for those with minor traumatic brain injury and related neurocognitive conditions.”
At Hub68, March Ahead is establishing a dedicated office to offer coordinated psychiatric, psychological and patient care services, backed by improved referral pathways and a multidisciplinary clinical team.
“By delivering our services from Hub 68, we strengthen our ability to provide co-ordinated, evidence-based care pathways for veterans and work seamlessly with allied health, research partners, and veteran-focused organisations,” Dr Perera said.
March Ahead recently met with Redland City Councillors Peter Mitchell and Paul Gollé to outline the organisation’s plans to expand clinical resources across the Redland Bay area.
The meeting focused on aligning veteran-focused services with the region’s growing health and community priorities.
“I am thrilled to support March Ahead and Hub 68 in enabling crucial health services and outcomes,” Cr Mitchell said.
“I am also excited for the economic and education opportunities from an expanded Health services ecosystem.”
Cr Gollé also added that March Ahead and Hub 68 represent a powerful step forward for the Redlands community – offering vital support to our Veteran community, particularly in mental health.
“As a veteran myself, I know firsthand the value of having accessible, local services for veterans and their families,” he said.
Hub68 director Warren Pryde also welcomed the partnership.
“We are pleased to have March Ahead join Hub68 in offering their specialist services in mental health, bringing a strong focus on supporting veterans and their families,” he said.
“The addition of March Ahead’s expertise in mental health and veteran care strengthens our commitment to delivering accessible, high-quality health services for the Redlands community.”
