REDLANDS Touch Association is gearing up for one of its largest and strongest State Cup campaigns yet.

It has confirmed 12 teams across U20s, Premier and Masters divisions for the 2025 Queensland Senior State Cup to be held from Friday, November 28 to Sunday, November 30 at Coomera Sports Park on the Gold Coast.

The association’s Women’s Premier team enters the tournament hungry for redemption after a narrow Metro Cup grand final loss.

The Metro Cup, South East Queensland’s elite regional competition, features the strongest clubs from Brisbane, the Gold Coast and surrounding areas, and provides an important development pathway for rising representative players.

Redlands’ Men’s Premier team heads into the State Cup as one of the clear favourites, following a dominant Metro Cup campaign capped by a 9-3 grand final victory over the UQ Rebels a couple of weeks ago.

The men are also the reigning State Cup champions from last year and will be looking to defend their title.

Redlands Touch will again be strongly represented in the Masters divisions, including the Men’s Over 60s, who are aiming for back-to-back State Cup titles after their success last year.

This year’s Senior State Cup will also showcase a number of Redlands Coast Sport Hall of Fame Award nominees, with Redlands Touch nominated for Organisation of the Year.

Adam Pryde and Dave Maher, who are both nominated for Coach of the Year at this year’s awards, will lead the Women’s Premier and Men’s Premier teams.

Corey Russell, nominated for Male Athlete of the Year, and Kimberley Sue See, nominated for Female Athlete of the Year, will be competing in the premier division, while Matt Lavery, nominated for Official of the Year, will be one of the leading referees at the event.

Jason Forsyth, who is also nominated for an award at this year’s event – Volunteer of the Year, said the continued growth of the senior program reflected the strength of the entire club.
