A WYNNUM West couple have turned a 50-year tradition into a $100,000 win after buying the first prize-winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10881 drawn on Tuesday, October 8.

The cheery couple revealed they exchanged “a few choice words” in pure shock after discovering their newfound treasure.

“We’re feeling very good right now!” the winning husband chuckled.

“Still in a bit of shock if we’re honest.

“We started playing Lucky Lotteries around 1972 and we haven’t really stopped since.

“We’ve had little wins over the years but you don’t have to spend much to win big, which is nice.

“When we checked the ticket and saw the win, we let out a few choice words, we just couldn’t believe our eyes.”

While still processing the winning news, the elated couple shared that the money had come just in time as they recently undertook extensive house renovations.

“We’re feeling very lucky to have won right now as we’re in the process of starting some house renos,” the husband shared.

“It’s a welcome boost, that’s for sure!”

The entry was purchased at Foodworks Wynnum West, with store manager David Edwards saying he felt overwhelmed with joy when he heard his outlet had sold a winning ticket.

“It is such an incredible feeling to be able to give back to our community,” he said.

“We’ve been patiently waiting for a win and are so happy to celebrate our first ever first prize win.

“We’re planning on decorating our entire service area with posters and balloons to celebrate the win.”
