Police have charged a 20-year-old man after an alleged armed robbery at a tobacconist on Florence Street in Wynnum.

The Logan man was taken into custody on August 30 and charged with one count each of armed robbery, enter premises and commit, and possess utensils.

It came after police released footage of the alleged robbery, which took place on April 20, and issued an appeal to the public for information as part of their investigations into the incident.

Police say the man, who was allegedly armed, entered the store just before 8pm where he demanded money and tobacco products from a female employee.

The attendant complied and no one was physically injured.

Police say the 20-year-old, who was in the company of another armed person, then left the store on foot with tobacco products and a sum of cash.

He was taken into custody after extensive investigations and is due to reappear in Wynnum Magistrates Court on October 30.

Witnesses or anyone with information about the other alleged offender are urged to contact police.
