In recognition of the sister city status the Kani City Mayor and his council along with an organisation of seniors, Kenyukai, turned out to welcome the group and maee the two day stay memorable.

In Kani, amidst the stunning cherry blossoms in full bloom, the U3A group had a firsthand opportunity to be immersed in the traditional activities of dance, music, origami and calligraphy while wearing happy coats.

As guests of Kani City the group explored the mountain home of a world-renowned potter, wandered through the magnificent Rose Garden Park and delved into the art of sake making.
