A TEAM of SES workers has received a heartwarming note after clearing two fallen trees.

Recently involved in the northern rain event response in Townsville and Ingham, the four SES workers were deployed to support the Redlands community.

The crew, consisting of Dan Cordner (Halifax), Ethan Bressan (Thuringowa), Brooke Collicoat (Pentland), and Caitlyn Pearce (Townsville), arrived at Elderberry St, Thornlands to find two trees blocking the road.

A nearby family watched from upstairs as the SES members cleared the road.

A young boy and girl waved from behind the window and were fascinated by the operation.

After completing the task, the operators removed their helmets to cool down.

During this time, the mother approached Ms Collicoat with biscuits and a note.

“Thanks for coming to our literal rescue when we didn’t think our son’s chainsaw was going to cut it,” it read.

“We really appreciate your help and hope you enjoy a cuppa and a biccie later!”

The mother told Ms Collicoat that her son had wanted to help cut the trees with his plastic chainsaw, and her daughter was thrilled to see a woman handling a chainsaw.

SES Northern Regional Director Daryl Camp praised the efforts of the crew.

“When the community expresses their gratitude and support in any form, it is always heartwarming for our teams to hear that their work is appreciated,” he said.
