THE Redlands Coast Chamber of Commerce is taking a practical step to keep local dollars circulating within the region, launching a new Local Supplier Register designed to connect event organisers, businesses, and community groups with local suppliers.
With the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games on the horizon, the Chamber is working to build a strong culture of local procurement.
The aim is to encourage businesses and organisations to look locally first when they need products or services, creating lasting business relationships and ensuring more spending remains within the Redlands Coast.
Every week, the Chamber receives enquiries from people organising everything from community festivals and sporting events to corporate functions, markets, and private celebrations.
Too often, organisers source goods and services from outside the region simply because they are unaware of the wealth of local businesses available.
The new Local Supplier Register is designed to change that by making it easier for the Chamber to connect organisers with businesses right here on the Redlands Coast.
Maintained as an internal Chamber resource and rapid-response referral directory, the register will be used whenever businesses, community groups, or event organisers contact the Chamber seeking recommendations.
The Chamber wants the directory to be filled with a wide spectrum of suppliers, including caterers, florists, entertainers, photographers, videographers, accommodation providers, transport operators, signage companies, event hire businesses, marketing professionals, security providers, cleaners, trades, and many other local service providers.
The broader and more comprehensive the register becomes, the easier it will be to showcase the strength and diversity of the Redlands Coast business community.
While the register is open to all local businesses to ensure organisers have access to a comprehensive range of suppliers, Chamber members will receive priority consideration when referrals are made, recognising their ongoing investment in supporting the local business network.
The register serves as a referral tool only and does not represent an endorsement or guarantee of any business.
By building this network now, the Chamber hopes to reduce spending leakage, strengthen connections between local businesses, and maximise the economic opportunities generated by local events, major projects, and future Olympic-related activity.
