NOMINATIONS are now open for the 2027 Redlands Coast Australia Day Awards, celebrating local people and organisations making an outstanding contribution to the community.

Redland City Acting Mayor Julie Talty said the awards were a chance to recognise those who went above and beyond to strengthen community connections and improve life across Redlands Coast.

“Across our community there are countless people quietly making a positive difference every day,” Cr Talty said. They may be demonstrating leadership and innovation and serving as a positive role model for others.

“The Redlands Coast Australia Day Awards are an opportunity to shine a light on these local achievers and the impact they make in the community.

“Every nomination tells a story of generosity, commitment and community pride.

“Taking a few minutes to nominate someone is a meaningful way to thank them for everything they do.”

The award categories are Citizen of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year for residents aged 65 and over, Young Citizen of the Year for those aged 26 and under, Organisation of the Year and the Community Spirit Award for an individual or organisation.

Nominations close on Sunday, November 1, with recipients to be announced at a special ceremony in January.
