Redland City Council is currently assessing an application for a Nativity scene display as part of this year’s Lighting of the Christmas Tree event.

According to council CEO Louise Rusan, stallholder applications for the event, which included proposals for displays such as a Nativity scene, opened on Monday, 8 September and closed on Monday, 29 September.

Only one application for a Nativity scene was received during this period.

The council is reviewing the submission, and the applicant is expected to be notified of the outcome by Monday, 13 October.

However, council staff have indicated that, given there was only one application, notification could come sooner.

The Lighting of the Christmas Tree is a longstanding annual event in Redlands, bringing together the community for the festive season with market stalls, performances, and family-friendly activities.
