Redlands United will look to reignite their FQPL1 campaign when they host Brisbane Strikers under lights at Cleveland’s Amcal Arena on Friday night.
After a timely break in the competition, the Red Devils return refreshed for Round 10, facing one of the league’s benchmark sides.
The Strikers sit second on the ladder, while Redlands, currently seventh, remain firmly in the hunt just one win outside the top four.
Friday’s clash shapes as a crucial test for the home side as they aim to steady their season following a couple of recent setbacks.
With momentum on the line, the Red Devils will be keen to make a statement against a well-drilled opponent they know well.
Kick-off for the main fixture is set for 8.30pm, with the Under 23s getting proceedings underway at 6.30pm.
Head coach Graham Fyfe said his side was eager to get back on the park and embrace the challenge.
“Really looking forward to the game. Strikers have been together for a while as a group with a top guy and coach and are second in the league and fully deserve to be there,” he said.
“It’ll be good to play against a team that like to get the ball down and play the way football should be played.
“We’ve a few key players unavailable but we have players, that when they believe in themselves, they can produce quality against any opposition.
“If we can be better in key moments and focus for 90 plus minutes then we can get a great result and get back to the position in the league, the lads and club deserve to be in.”
With preparations complete, the focus now shifts to execution, as Redlands look to deliver a performance that could reshape their ladder position and reignite their push toward finals contention.
