Police involved shooting, Wynnum West

Police have shot a man following an incident in Wynnum West this morning, 9 September.

Around 9:20am, police were called to a house on Cabanda Street following reports of a fire.

Upon arrival, it is believed an interaction occurred between the man and officers, as a result he was shot by police.

Medical assistance was immediately rendered.

The man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

No police officers or members of the public were injured during the incident.

There is no risk to public safety.

A crime scene has been declared. Investigations are ongoing.

The Ethical Standards Command is continuing to investigate the incident with the investigation subject to oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
