REDLAND Bay’s Neon Boxing Academy is celebrating outstanding success again after returning from the 2026 Australian Schools Boxing Championships with an Australian Champion and an Australian silver medallist.
Leading the celebrations is Maddox “Moneyman” McGregor, who was crowned Australian Under 17 (52–54kg) champion, while teammate William “BXR Will” Turnbull claimed the Australian Under 13 (50–52kg) silver medal.
Held from July 8-11, the championships were hosted by Boxing Australia at the Eagles Sports Complex in Mansfield.
The tournament attracted 161 athletes from every Australian state and territory, with 119 bouts contested over four days of competition.
Neon Head Coach Leon Lay, who was also selected as part of the Queensland coaching team for the championships, said both McGregor and Turnbull had represented Queensland, Neon Boxing Academy and the Redlands community with pride.
