There are more seaside secrets and suspicious deaths on the way, with Murder In A Small Town officially renewed for a third season.
According to reports from Deadline, US broadcaster Fox has commissioned another 10 episodes of the cozy crime drama, while former star Peter Gallagher is set to join the cast as a new series regular.
The series airs in Australia on and streaming platform , where it has steadily built an audience since debuting in late 2024.
Its second season returned in late 2025 with an expanded 10-episode run that was fast-tracked for Australian audiences across both free-to-air and streaming platforms.
Season three will see Gallagher take on the role of Rod Finlayson, a charismatic yet unpredictable newcomer whose arrival at the Gibsons marina is expected to shake up the quiet coastal town and create new complications for detective Karl Alberg and librarian Cassandra Lee.
Returning leads Rossif Sutherland and Kristin Kreuk will reprise their roles in the mystery drama, which is based on the Alberg and Cassandra novels by author L.R. Wright.
Fox Television Network executive vice president of drama programming and development Brooke Bowman said the network was excited to continue the series following its growing popularity with Australian audiences.
No premiere date for season three has been announced, but Australian viewers can stream the first two seasons.
