AUSTRALIA Day is a time to reflect on who we are, where we have come from and what brings us together as a community.

It is also a time to look forward and celebrate the shared values that unite us as Australians.

Brisbane is a welcoming city where people from all backgrounds can belong and thrive.

Our Aussie spirit will be on display once again as we continue our long-held tradition of welcoming new citizens this Australia Day.

Becoming an Australian citizen is a proud and meaningful moment, and Brisbane is honoured to be part of that journey for so many people.

We are also recognising the individuals and community groups who have helped make our city a better place through our annual Australia Day Awards.

These quiet achievers give their time, energy and care to others and help strengthen the fabric of our city every day.

Australia Day is about unity, respect and shared pride in the place we call home.

Every resident adds something special to our city and helps shape Brisbane’s character and way of life.

Brisbane is Australia’s lifestyle capital and Australia Day is a chance to enjoy everything our city has to offer.

We have been busy preparing our parks and pools, which are always popular places for families and friends to come together and celebrate.

I encourage everyone to enjoy the day safely, respectfully and in the spirit of community that makes Brisbane such a great place to call home.
